Necessary betrayals

It’s a delicate thing to bring hurt to a person. The decision to destroy the potential of a niche of moments which might ultimately lead to a possibility for something beautiful. But when one doesn’t aspire for patience, and on top of everything, when an entire lake of feelings is involved… double trouble…

We are temporal beings, sometimes we have the ability to sense the moods of time, to take a picture of our lives decades away into the future: when body is aching, forces are fable, intelligence gets diminished; we’re starting to forget things, experience, memories, gained knowledge, even people… so, one begins to question the chase for truth we seek our entire lives; in the end we forget. All that cruelty in our destiny…

And now in this very moment, I stand in front of you, silent time traveler, all fucked up in the process of prudent decision making. The quintessence in my intention is to see you for the last time, despite of causality. This is an act of necessary betrayal, essential in its true nature, far worse than adultery. With this sacrifice, I deliberately gamble with circumstances bringing us to a point where we both lose.

And yet somehow, this is an act of hope and affection…

  1. We should leave people because we don't love them anymore, not when you're dying of love

    1. In some peculiar set of circumstances, love becomes incomplete. Do we live for shadows, or do we chase full potentials somewhere else!?

  2. Marina, I read a few words the other day that I think speak towards your thoughts shared here:
"Truth is higher than everything, but higher still is truthful living."

Dejan poses the question of what is truth if what was true one day is forgotten by the next? If a person lacks the belief that their love for another, today, will remain forever, isn't it hard to live truthfully, today, with a label or commitment of forever?

So, what is true? It's an interesting question.

I really enjoyed the philosophical side of this write, Dejan. Thank you for continuing to share your lovely self with the wider world.

    1. Indeed, chase for truth and truthful living toward oneself and others... forever is such a long time, as long as we're truthful with ourselves and others, and we strive toward hope and affections, we'd become even more enchanting human beings:)
